Jimi Biotech and Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences reached a strategic partnership for the R&D of cultivated meat production

Jimi Biotech and Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences have recently signed a strategic partnership agreement to carry out comprehensive cooperation in the development and production of cultivated meat.

Jimi Biotech has made important technological breakthroughs in key areas such as cell lines and culture media, while Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences has deep technical expertise in the manufacturing and safety control of agricultural products, and this partnership aims to combine advantages from both sides.

Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences is an agricultural research institution directly under Zhejiang Provincial Government, and a main force in China’s research and development, and application of agricultural technology. 

CEO Cao Zhehou of Jimi Biotech said, “We are very pleased to have reached a strategic partnership with Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The academy has extensive research experience and industry resources, and we believe that this partnership can accelerate the progress of cultivated meat in key areas such as cost, taste, and safety control.”

Chen Lihong, the leader of the animal product processing team at the Food Science Research Institute of Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences, said, “Cultivated meat is a very promising new field for food. Jimi Biotech is a leader in this field, having developed the first piece of 100% cell-based meat in China without a plant scaffold. We also highly appreciate Jimi’s leading results in cost control, especially in culture media. We hope to fully leverage our capabilities at Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences to make significant contributions to the cause of cultivated meat with joint efforts from both sides.”
